So I'm looking for some outside input. I am in need of replacing my existing truck bed and am in the process of seriously considering putting an aluminum flatbed on the old girl. Something like this.

So my question is this what are your guys thoughts on it, do I go with a flatbed or a conventional truck bed? Keep in mind that this is a non-dually truck.

Thanks for your input.

that honestly depends on which option will better suit your needs. if you need the utility of a flat bed....go for it. I only use my bed to take the trash to the compactor and lug grilles and coolers and fishing poles around so my regular bed works just fine

I agree..depends on the use.

That's actually an ugly looking one (at least the headache rack).

There are much better looking units out there.

I have always liked the utility beds. It's just more money than I want to spend.

That is what I have been thinking as well and is why I am considering a flatbed. I use the bed of my truck for all sorts of things, I do a lot of hauling both in the bed and with trailers. But, I'm looking for some outside input like I said.

If you can't justify the use..

odds are you're intrigued and may get one because it's different. But odds are after while you'll probably get tired of it and want just the standard old bed.

I'd love to have one..but I can't justify why I'd need one and I think they are cool looking but after awhile..I'd probably get sick of looking at it. Unless it was all decked out..

Flatbeds are great!

However, it does mean you'll have to tie most things down back there, unless you build some sides. I use this setup wheel hauling fruit & larger items, but don't want to tie anything down

I still prefer a regular truck bed on my daily driver, as it's lower to the ground and you can just throw stuff in there without having to tie things down. But the flatbed definitely comes in handy, especially for multiple pallets and other things that require a forklift to load.

That's awesome! Who made that? Is it a custom one-off, of made & sold by a bed manufacturer?

Never liked them on srw trucks. I load palletized items on trailers so i can keep my regular bed.
