Mopar®, Chrysler LLC's Global Service and Parts division, will bring its own special brand of excitement to the Detroit Autorama. Mopar will display five top-notch show cars, its glittering Mopar Image Center and Mopar Rolling Speedshop, and will also select the first 2009 Mopar "Top Eliminator" award-winner for an outstanding Mopar vehicle. The Detroit Autorama is scheduled for Mar. 6–8 at Cobo Center in Detroit, Mich.

Mopar Authentic Performance Gear will be available at the show, and Mopar will also have Product Specialists on hand to answer questions on specific Mopar Performance Parts and Accessories. Cars on display include a 2009 Mopar Dodge Ram 1500 Sport, a 2009 Dodge Challenger RT, a 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible and a 1970 Dodge Super Bee from the Walter P. Chrysler Museum.

The Mopar Challenger Drag Pak driven by "Big Daddy" Don Garlits will also be on view for show attendees. The race car is an example of what enthusiasts can expect to see on the dragstrip this season once sportsman racers get their hands on the new package car. The Mopar Challenger Drag Pak is able to run in 40 NHRA stock classes using either the 6.1L or 5.7L HEMI® engine or the 360 Magnum® engine. Big Daddy's Drag Pak features a 6.1 HEMI and will run in events across the southeastern U.S. and at the prestigious NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals.

The 2009 Mopar Dodge Ram 1500 Sport is a rolling showcase of Mopar accessories and parts, including a Cold Air Intake, a Cat-BackTM Exhaust, a 3" Pre-Runner Lift Kit, Mopar 20" Chrome Wheels and many other Dodge Ram accessories. The 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T has a T/A Hood and is powered by a 5.7L HEMI. The car has a Mopar Coil-Over Suspension Kit, a Mopar Strut Tower Brace, 18" Retro Wheels, a T-Handle Shifter and a long list of other Mopar Accessories.

Bob Horton, President and CEO of Trademarketing Resources, Inc., Chrysler LLC's restoration parts licensing agency, will have his own 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible on display in the Mopar Autorama exhibit. Horton's Challenger features officially-licensed Mopar restoration parts from 25 different Chrysler licensees. The car has been on display at numerous events, including the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, and has been featured in Mopar Collector's Guide.

Mopar will also choose the first 2009 Mopar "Top Eliminator" award winner at the Detroit Autorama. The Mopar "Top Eliminator" program, now in its third year, recognizes the most skilled Mopar enthusiasts and their restyled or customized Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge vehicles. A total of six Mopar "Top Eliminator" winners will be selected throughout the year. The award-winning vehicles will be featured in the Mopar display at the SEMA show in November.

I met Don Garlits here in town at a route 66 car show , talk about a real down to earth guy , super nice He signed the Left side valve cover on my engine " Big Daddy Don Garlits Mopars Rule !! " I get more comments on that than anything else on the car people ask is that really Big Daddy signiture they think I'm crazy for keeping it on the car , But I figure it's for good luck & has to add more horse power than a set of chrome valve covers !!???
