lol. Sure thing lrl1990. Hey its just an opinion. Wats the point of posting on chat sites like this if you want everyone to agree with you?
Oh well. Nice lookin truck in your pick by the way. We don't have many of that sort of beast down here in Aus. They started selling them lately but they are real pricey.
The cost of petrol down here would kick owning one of them in the ass anyway.
Take it ezy mate.

Where did you find the stripe? I'm looking for an AAR Cuda stripe for a 1st gen, but can't seem to find one.

I'm going to paint my '96 just because I want to. I've always wanted to learn to paint, and I figure I can't screw it up anymore than it already is. I plan on doing it this fall because the weather is already too humid down here in GA.

I like the "old-school" look too. I plan on painting the hood, roof, and fin black. I'm still undecided on the rest. Either keep it white, sublime, or hemi orange.

I guess some people haven't noticed the new cars that are coming out have the old school look. ;)

EZ4U2CHere I had a local vinyl shop make them for me, they say "2.0" in the middle. Have you asked Wampa1500 about the AAR stripes? Do ya race the white one in SCCA? the reason I ask is becuase I do and I noticed in the pic it looks like there is a qrange pyloncone in the background and I noticed the numbers on the side like I have (mines 44 sts)

Bobbie Yeah I don't really care what others think I know EVERYTHING I have done to my car while others don't :) and hey if ya want through my pics up on the site, you can use them all except for the "Team Xtreme" one *L* besides I thought ya was gonna get me a small No Coast Kustoms decal anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I race the white neon in SCCA and have recently been introduced to NASA. I also race it with the Porche club, . Nothing like a neon spankin' some $80,000 cars.

No, I haven't asked Wampa about the stripes. I asked him several times if he'd do some custom stripes for my truck, and he really didn't act too interested.

Tuner this clown also says he has a 170-200 hp SOHC neon. LOL the air intake got him that LOL. anyhow I just want to say AW HELLYEAH ! go with the old mopar look
Id like to paint mine like a Hemi Cuda. Some people are not hard core MOPAR fans and it shows I like the NASTALGIA look. MEMORIES.LOL These new cars are just as fast to as the lod muscle cars Stock of coarse. I give the OLD MOPAR LOOK TWO THUMBS UP.
Sorry about the miss judge in color the bronze rims are awsome on the green Neon.
If my car was green It would have about that same look as yours but I would go for the military look..That would kick ass I'd call her MAJOR PAIN........lol a major pain for all the ricers.....LATER PEACE OUT.

dodgeneonACR98 Oh I ain't worried bout what he thinks, I have been building high power cars for years, plus I been modding Neons for about the last 5 and already had a Turbo Neon that was kickin ass so I know what it takes to get the respect :D And no worries on the mistaking the color of the rims, I get it alot when people see it in person *LOL* I am hoping to paint the car in the next couple months and it will be a retro style paintjob

Hey its amazing how some "facts" just seem to be made up some times.
If you read some other topics here you will see it was noted that the expected hp was about 170. NOT 170 - 200. It wasn't noted what the previous owner of the vehicle did to the engine with the same mechanic, ie: high compression pistons, ported head etc. All that was said was the work done by the new owner (me) to the vehicle. And if Im not seeing things dodgeneonacr98 said "he could buy that".
Its funny that when someone gives a differing opinion to someone here that all hell breaks loose!! All this crap started cause I had a differing opinion on a car hood!! As in why not get a carbon one? if your painting it black. Members here should be able to give differing opinions with out receiving remarks like " shut ya trap".
Its always good to remember that more than one person in the world mods cars and sometimes differing results in performance can be obtained from people experimenting and from people with considerable knowledge in not just neons but all cars.
Theres my 2 cents worth. Cya

Forgive me for being dick HOODOO if ya can. I forgot about the other mods internal, I didn't word that as well as I should have but NEVER did I say "shut ya trap". A question for you HOODOO have you put that car on the dyno yet? My guess is no!
When you do you will see your actual hp to the ground will be much less than you
expect. I have seen it before lots of times this kid pulls up with his car 4000 $ in bolt on mods and a few internals, he thinks his 302 Mustang should be 375 hp, Sad but true he walked off of the lot wishing he had not even bothered, The car was fast but he was makeing 120 hp less than he thought. I am not saying your car hasn't gotten quicker All i am saying is that there is probablly only 130-140 to the wheels MAX! You started with 132 hp RIGHT! Subtract for the drivetrain and accesories. You got about 90 hp to the wheels thats it.Any air intake on a naturally aspirated motor will not give you more than 5-6 hp maybe 1 hp to the wheels.I started with the DOHC 150 hp motor and I dont think I am getting 120 hp to the wheels.NO I never had it on a DYNO! But I'm not over rateing my hp neither. I am sorry that I didnt say this before
I didnt want to start a warbut since I have I am glad to get this off my mind. After all you are right it is only another persons oppinion!
When you go to the dyno I want to see your slip.I will plant a foot in my own ass if you have over 150 hp to the wheels and I will never doubt a word you say.SOUNDS FAIR ENOUHG TO ME. OH and I would like to appologize to TUNNER also for bringing
this squabble on in his harmless post. G-DAY

Thats cool. But in Aus we look at Hp to the flywheel then to the wheels.
I said before in the posts that the rating of my hp was expectant from the FLYWHEEL.
You guys obviously look at to the wheels in the US more. Easy to misunderstand.
Dyno has been booked out for weeks here. Can't get my car in yet. They say in afew weeks. Thinkin now I might wait till I get my turbo from the us. Purchased a turbo manifold and T03 running at 8 psi with internal wastegate. Psi is low so I don't have to rework the engine, keeping it pretty standard - the car doesn't race - still a hot street car. I will get the dyno results to you when I finally do it. But 170 hp to the flywheel is VERY possible for the 2.0 litre (quite easily really!)
Catch ya later

I am glad that we come to an understanding! You are alright! MATTIE . With a good turbo and an exellent set up which you already have I would have to say that I would be planting my boot in my ass after the dyno. HA! But just as it is my boot has a good chance of staying clean. The fact that the dyno is backed up must suck for you. If I had to guess flywheel hp on my car id guess maybe 170 I think that is pushing it.It was 150 stock but I added a few things that perked it up a bit. Have you gotten that T/B bored yet that will liven her up some.If you are going to be getting turbo for sure
I think Id go with a 60 mm T/B you want it to be able to flow the right amount CFM you dont want to choke out the turbo by restricting the air flow . It may not make a bit of difference but I would definatelly do some research on it. SOMEPLACE I think at dodgetalk there is a post with the flow chart for all neon T/B's encluding for the 55 mm and the 60 mm. I dunno may be worth checking into.PEACE!
