2007 Dodge Dakota, V6, long bed, 42K miles
I changed out the EVAP (shown in pic below) after getting a solid engine light and pulling a code P0443 indicating the purge solenoid has a circuit failure. Did not disconnect the negative terminal afterwards but have driven the vehicle for 80 miles and engine light has not gone out .
do I need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to reset things/what should I expect?
If I do disconnect the negative terminal will the light go out and only go back on after some amount of driving if the problem still exists or will it go back on immediately?

Experiencing idle surge and the truck surged while slowing to a stop at a traffic light. Also truck has stalled when in reverse with light to no throttle applied. Also I have experienced surge and momentary power loss at higher speed when lightly accelerating.
