I've been looking around and I have a few questions about electric fans. First, besides cooling what else do the offer? Is it recommended that I get one? If so what kind should I get (size, single or dual, cfm)? Thanks to all that apply.

The truck info is in the sig.

Thanks,
Craig

An e-fan will free up about 10hp because it is not a drain on the engine. It will also give you more run to work on the engine. I THINK you need 2800-3000 cfm's but you should check on that. If you search this board you'll find lots of info. I hope this helps.

I can attest to a noticable increase in horsepower AND torque with the electric fans.
When the stock fan clutch went out on my 350 Chevy truck I noticed something was different by a serious increase in seat-of-the-pants take off, both at lights and out of corners.
Then the truck started to get hot at lights. Sure enough, the fan clutch was out.

I mounted a large puller fan from a Camaro and wired it with a pre-made relay from O'Reilly auto. Truck stayed cool and I got to keep the extra ponies!!!

This will be the first mod to my Dodge.
