Edelbrock TES Guys Please Chime In

1320 Views 59 Replies 22 Participants Last post by  BlackBaggedSS/T
How do you guys like these headers? The Edelbrock website is claiming 28 rwhp and 34 rwtq from these things - which I find a little overstated. Don't numbers like that usually come from longtubes? Did you feel a significant difference?

I am thinking of getting headers before the cam (probably KRC 210), and realize to see the full benefits of a cam, I need to open her up. Thank you in advance.

...ooo, im curious too since headers are my nex mod
I love 'em...Dunno how much difference they make, I changed gears and plugs at the same time
I am undecided between the TES and the Pacesetters. They are about the same price, but my guess is the Pacesetters would cost a little more overall since you'd need to relocate some things during the install.
Pacesetters are longtubes, and illegal in California..

I know some guys with illegal longtubes :D
I'm happy with my edlebrocks, better than the shortys I had before, and they are pretty high quality.

That's cool...I originally was going to get Pacesetters, but I wanted to be able to pass smog..
o.k. yesterday i went and smoged my truck. passed (forgot about the headers) the edelbrock are a easy install, they say there shortys but more like mid-lenths.. just make sure you cut the pipe before thw cat strait. the other headers will be a problem for smog and over extending the sensor wires.. i tow a 24tt and i like how the power is smoother comming. plus they look bitchen.. A+ good luck on your decision.
I love my edelbrock headers. Easy install. Awesome look and they really make my truck scream in the highers rpms. And no loss down low. I give them an A+
I like the long tubes myself. Why wouldn't your truck pass smog with LT's? I haven't heard anything about that.

moving your cats = fail in california.

i love my headers, really didnt notice any loss low down and they really pull hard up top. i noitced a considerable increase in power when i installed mine.
Mine made more difference than my superchips, or anything else so i was extremeley happy. Really i was suprised, and i actually called Edelbrock an asked them about those numbers, the guy said they used the same dyno, and on most other engines they saw about 10HP and 15lbs/TQ, but he said for some reason on the Hemi it showed much better numbers than anything else.
Which part numbers is everyone using for 04 5.7 4x4? I've searched Summit and have come up with multiple edelbrock systems 65692,66793 and am getting a little confused. Thanks.

go to the edelbrock website. Im pretty sure its 66793 the same part number as for the 2wd drive guys....
The Edelbrocks make as much HP as the longtubes, but the long tubes give you more torque down low.
I've got the Edelbrocks and from 3000 to 6000 rpm they make big power over stock!
I'm guessing long tubes kick in earlier than that.

Thanks. I was getting numbers mixed up with the shorty headers and TES.
reviews from owners seem better overall than I expected...another thing I am scribbling onto my list...agh!!!
I think you guys pushed me toward the TES. I'd love to do longtubes, but I don't want to deal with redoing my exhaust if it fails smog. I am taking you word on this one that they provide a noticeable difference!

They will be my next mod.
Defenitely sounds like a future mod. For those who have installed these already, did you use the gaskets & bolts edelbrock gives you or did you use stock, aftermarket ones?
