Well I decided to shorten my once full cold air intake to a short ram. I purchased this intake from eBay about a month ago and wrapped it in exhaust wrap to keep the hot out. I must say that it has worked very well to keep heat out. Today I was thinking, "It's like 60* on average right now, why not just short ram it and hear the sound a little better."
Turns out that I can't hear it much better because the exhaust wrap is wrapped three times completely around it. However I did notice a nice like pep in mid-range. I think its becauses there not as much pipe its pulling air from anymore.
