Hey all,

Is there a weird setting that i could have possibly pushed/done that disabled my rear tail gate from being opened from the outside?

Car off, doors all unlocked - cant open it unless I press the power button inside or on the rear.

Thought it was weird, drove it home, turned off car, unlocked all the doors - tried opening, nothing. No resistance in the lever at all. Pressed the tailgate button on my keyfob, opened up.

Closed it, went to manually open it, nothing.


Glanced at owners manual, didnt see anything. Any suggestions though? I hate wasting warranty mechanics time.

Sounds to me like you have the same issue this guy had. You have the automatic liftgate but mechanically it is the same for the manual operation. Here is the link on how to fix:

It sounds like you are still under warranty but it always helps if you let them know you did some research and this is what you think the problem is. It gives them a place to start.
