Just trying to find some pics of an 09 Ram 2500 Hemi with and without the airbox on it. As well are there any ways to identify on by looking at it?

Thanks

Do you know that the 03-09 2500 trucks are all the same. The 2500/3500 dont change bodies until 2010

No, the '09 2500's have a revised Hemi -- which I think is what he wants to see pics of. Sorry I don't have any, but I'm sure someone here will dig up a pic. :)

Guess some people are not up on the 2500HD series trucks. They were given a 383hp and 407 lbs/ft torque updated VVT Hemi for 09. Hence I wanted to see some pics and get some info on how to identify one in a truck.. Just the engine that is, I know the truck is changed in 2010.

Also when did they start recommending the use of 5w20 in the HD Hemi trucks?

you can tell the new hemis from the old by the throttle body location, on the new ones, it is pointing straight up.

this is the best pic i could find.

Here's what the new engine looks like. Only thing is that this one is missing the rubber boot between the airbox and TB.

I get it. But why the 5w30 bit?

My 04 1500 Hemi required 5w30 and I knew that the MDS Hemis needed 5w20. My 08 2500 is suggested for 5w20 unless towing and they give some numbers in the manual when they recommend 5w30. So I was just trying to tie all the different engine info to anything I could find on the new engine because of the build date on my truck. Now after seeing the pics that were posted in this thread I know I have the older Hemi. It was just wishfull thinking trying to find something to like about this POS truck. I wish I still had my 04 1500 Laramie over this 2500 Laramie except for the towing which is the only reason we bought this one.
