I have an optima yellow top D31, a power acoustik 3 farad capacitor and a Ma audio class "D" amp running (2) 12's in a ported box. When the bass hits the lights still dim, what else can I do to prevent this from happening? Besides turning down the bass, because I know someone will say turn down the bass.

I have it wired for 1 ohm operation, the alternator is 165 amps and all the wiring is new 4 gauge pos/neg. The capacitor has a digital readout, which fluctuates with the bass. I was thinking of buying the accuvolt or maybe a bigger capacitor.

Maybe I'll replace the cap with the Kinetik 600, they claim it equals 100 (1) farad capacitors.

Bottom line is you need to do the "Big 3" wire upgrade. Do a search on here for ir, but I did it and it just about solved my problem. You need to add a thicker ground wire from the alternator to the battery, the battery to the frame and the block to the frame, I think. Use 1/0 guage wire for this.
