on my 98 c/c dak my headlights are dim, running at about 25% brightness. The high beams work great, but won't stay on, i think its a switch problem. But the normal headlights don't shine at all and i can barely see anything on the highway. This is bad becauase i drive 100km or more a day on the highway in the dark. I dont think its a fuse, or a ground, because with those its all or nothing, no dimming. Should i replace the bulbs, or just run brighter bulbs?

try running brighter bulbs and see if it helps, and the highs are probably a bad switch if they won't stay on

pull your headlight swith and make sure the plug has not melted.. i just changed the harness and switch in a 98 cc dak. switch overheats and melts the plug, dealer sells a replacement as a whole kit for like 100 bucks. headlights are way brighter now.
