as long as the mounting points are the same it should be straight forward only real problem is the bolts will probably be locked up in the bushing sleeves and will have to be cut

I'm pulling a set of tons from a 94-97 truck in about a week(D60 front and D70 rear) and everything should bolt up. Only thing I'll probably need is need driveshaft ends.

If you got a front Dana 60 for 700 thats a steal. If you got both you robbed the guy. I've been looking for a front for my project jeep. $1,500 for a front that needs work.

if you had dana 60s from a dodge 2500 from the same year 94-97 or 98-01. I can't remember the correct years(do a search, theres a topic on this). Also i believe the spring pads off the dana 60s are wider than the 9.25 on the 1500. Like i said i can't remember exactly. Hopefully someone will correct me if i'm wrong

if you get the axles from a truck in the same year group its fairly straight forward but on the rear sam is right the 3/4 ton and 1 ton have 3'' wide springs wear as the half ton has 2.5'' springs so you have to cut room for the u bolts

You are correct, the 1500 has 2.5" wide leaf springs and the 2500/3500 have 3" wide leaf springs.

Go over to www.pavementsucks.com and look around. There is a guy there called Archer that is running a HP D60 from a Ford and has done all the work on adding the coil buckets and so forth, it is a bit of work but that is a superb axle, if you enjoy fab work then it is worth it.

He did an axle swap, but not the Ford HP D60 front. He did a Dodge D60 and a Chevy 14 bolt rear if my memory serves me correct.

ya but if what ive been told is right the dodge danas (at least the old ones with leaf sprung fronts) have a pasenger side drop pumkin my 94 has a driver side drop witch is why im putting a ford axle in but maybe he had to do something with his tcase or the whole drive line because ive been told that all the parts wont match like to get a tcase that is passenger side drop needs an older tranny and the new motors wont bolt up to a newer motor maybe thats were some of his money went but im im rong feel free to corect me

Not sure about the leaf sprung pre 94 D60's from Dodge but I was not aware of them being a Pass Side Drop. Clay used a late model Dodge D60 so he had no issues with any of that at all.

Bottom line is this, the HP D60 can be used and is worth it if you can fab up the coil buckets and so forth. The HP D60 is a super nice axle with obviously a high pinion and with manual hubs, so it takes care of to issues with the Dodge D60.
