I think I've read about this here before but can't find anything.

Anyway, I have an 05 4x4 with the front cranked up two inches to accommodate 35" tires. I used new pork chops for the torsion bars and longer shocks to do this.

I've been running the stock CV shafts up front since doing the lift 4 years ago, and it's probably time to just replace them before they fall apart this winter.

For some reason I can recall reading that the easy way to upgrade the front CV shafts is to simply use a set from the newer 4th gen vehicles, they have the same spline count but are a bit more than 1/2" longer when compressed, 5/8" maybe.

Am I correct? Or is my memory failing me?

Thanks for any links/advice on this.

I went ahead and ordered the 2015 shafts after doing a lot of searching/reading, including the shop manuals.

If the weather permits I should have it done by Wednesday next week and will hopefully have some good news for you.
