Hello All -

2003 Dodge Durango (4.7L). Check engine light with P0480 Code - 'Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit Malfunction'.
Pulled the fan relay from PDC and tested - works;
Jumped fan relay sockets 30 and 87 - fan works;
With truck OFF voltage at sockets 30 and 86 = 12.5V; 87 = 0 V; 85 = varies from a little more than zero to less than 1 V;
With truck ON, at running temp, and AC on, the voltage at sockets 30 and 86 increase a bit as expected. No change for 87 and 85.

I've read that the computer (PCM) should send a "ground signal" to socket 85 when the cooling fan is called to operate.

My questions are, what voltage should I be reading at socket 85 when the fan is not suppose to be on? What voltage corresponds to a "ground signal" when the PCM sends it? I suspect there is a problem with socket 85 for this relay.

Thanks for any assistance!
