I have been having problems with a coolant leak. First it was the gasket on the t-stat, so I replaced the t-stat with a Jet 180. I noticed that again there was ANOTHER wet spot on the driveway.

I had my son start it up while I looked over the hoses etc. I noticed that there was coolant coming out from the water pump where it mates to the engine. This was near one of the bolts and I thought maybe it needed to be re-torqued. Then I notice that it was also leaking on the drivers side of the pump as well. (both small leaks).

The weep hole appears dry and the pump makes no unusual sounds.
:help:
Should I just replace the gasket or go ahead and replace the entire pump?

How much is the pump? If it's under $50 and you're taking the whole thing off anyway, then I would replace it.

I had the exact same issue. It was the gasket on the pump. The gasket gets mushed in there and starts to leak. Since you have to take the pump off to fix the issue I would just replace it with a new one from www.rockauto.com
