I am kicking around the idea of building a CAI. I like the idea of "doing it myself". Just curious, Is the area on the fender wall where it is now just dead air. I have looked at the custom one built via link on this web site (which is the one I'll probably duplicate),and noticed the filter was near where the horn units are now. I guess I'm wondering if there is anyway to force the air into the fenderwall mounted original. I am sure someone out there has thought of this. Thanks

I think if you just "modify" the plastic fender well protector, you can get a bit of outside air forced in there. If I am correct the plastic fender liner wheel well liner, is blocking most of the air current, so if you "modify" ( cut it up a bit) you should be able to get a bit of air in there. Correct me if I am wrong though guys.

You can remove the rubber flap by the radiatior for more air flow.

This is my homebrew CAI that cost me $125.00

Mine

Here is mine.

4 Inch Flexable Dryer Hose (Thick Stuff)

$5.00

And Of course I have the K&N Air Filter under the air hat too.

Works good for me. When I start putting more HP I will worry about the Gen II or something.
