I have never actually posted to a forum and I’m not a mechanic just a guy trying to fix my truck. But long story short I was driving down the road and a clunk started at wheel speed but only going forward and it doesn’t matter if I’m turning or not. So out of instinct I lifted the rear spun the tires in park and neutral then started the truck and let the tires spin in drive but no sounds. So there’s only a sound when the trucks on the ground. But since I just got the truck I changed a couple sensor and gave it at tune up so i figured I would inspect the rear diff, I took the cover of and cleaned it out all the gears looked good and no metal shavings. I turned the driveshaft in neutral and it doesn’t wiggle but it will turn a little both ways before the pinion grabs. And the rear caliper are rusted to hell so I’m going to replace them. So if anyone could help with the clunk I would appreciate it.
