Clay Bar v.s. Cleaner wax - Differences ?

What would you say is the difference between the use of a clay bar v.s. what some companies call "cleaner" wax

Cleaner wax is not harsh like polishing compound.... I have used it before with a great deal of success.

I do keep my truck in the garage unless I'm driving it, so it doesn't get AS pounded with the daily grit and grime as vehicles who are exposed to the elements 24/7

inquiring minds want to know ;)

Cleaner/wax, exactly as named. They usually contain either chemical or abrasive attributes for the "cleaning" phase, which has the ability to remove surface contaminants and light oxidation. Also a small amt of insignificant carnauba protection, usually no longer durability then 2 weeks.
Clay on the other hand has the ability "when properly used", to pull and or sheer contaimants which have become embedded in the surface. No cleaner/wax can do this. Clay products will remove previously applied protectant, so always follow up with a polish and sealant.

Exactly!

Do the baggie trick before and after the claybar on your paint on your paint and you will definitely know the difference!
Baggie trick?

Take a plastic grocery bag or a sandwich baggie, or any thin plastic like that, put your fingers in the bag and gently rub the bag over your paint, then clay bar the same area and feel the difference! The pre clay bay area will more than likely feel like sand paper, & the post clay bar area will feel like a fine piece of glass.
