In a 1500, the OEM is a trac lock from dana. Not very good. The retaining clips tend to bust and results in the gears getting destroyed if not caught right away

Mine is a 1996 1500 and came with a Sure-grip which is made by Auburn Gear. They are a cone type LSD which are very good and do not wear out.

Edit: I just pulled out my window sticker and it doesn't say sure-grip like I remember; just "anti spin". I've validated this before and confirmed it was auburn, I just dont remember where I got the info. The only reason I knew this is because I had my truck built and it took for ever. The reason was a problem with auburn supplying the parts. :dunno:
