Just replaced the alternator and both belts on my baby. (What a pain in the ...) Just a quick question, how long before the check engine light goes away? I pulled the code (12) which I think is the battery disconnect code. How many starts before it goes away? Can I cancel it now? :help:

Your check engine light should not be on for code 12......

I second that
code 12 will not turn on your check engine light
do a search on this forum on the check engine light
you can cycle the key 3 times on and off and it will flash the trouble codes in the instrument cluster

To remove the code you will have to reset the PCM. Code 12 is a pain in the ass sometimes to get rid of. If you have trouble with it returning back on, you may need to replace some battery wires, I found that this has alot to do with the code 12 also.
I had to fight code 12 for a year or two b4 I finally got rid of it for good. Once I relocated my battery and ran new cables I have not had that problem.

BTW: JSYK the code 12 will not hurt anything, it's just annoying. Good luck

Ah the FN light is out....

I drove the car a couple times and the dreaded check engine light light went out. My baby is happy again. 150K and still rocking..... It needs rear struts (probably fronts as well) so I have to do a bit of research. Any suggestions? The car is only worth a grand. :crazy:

If you plan to keep the car for a long time and put some money into it, Id spring for some Koni's. If you think that car is fun to drive, try it on some Koni's. :rck: They are not cheap but well worth the cash IMHO. If I ever have to replace my Koni's I will most def be getting another set! :gr_patrio
