Guys, I know the speed sensor issue has been covered almost as much as the blower resistor block but I wanted to see if the speed sensor would cause the check engine light to go on. I'm showing all of the symptoms of a bad speed sensor so I'd imagine I have to replace it. From what I've seen it is fairly simple for someone with average mechanical ability?
But I'm wondering if that will resolve situation or if I need to find someone with a diagnostic computer. In the state of CT, they will not allow you to go through emissions with your check engine light on so I need to get that taken care of. If it is because of the speed sensor and I replace it, will the light go off on its own or does it need to be "triggered" to go off?
Thanks for any help.
