I personally would start with replacing the speed sensor, easy and cheap fix. like $20-25 at Autozone... That would be a start, if that does not work I would start tracing my wiring back to the pcm making sure it does not have any melted or frayed spots (from the speed sensor).
ok the one that is 13.99 is located where on the vehicle? on the transfer case? and is that one the one i need to replace not the more exspensive one? i would gladly got take back the 50 dollar one and get a 14, since they dont take returns on electrical parts once theyve been connected before.
No the one you need to replace (if it is the problem) is on the drivers side of the transmission towards the back. easy to see and find. The ABS speed sensor (more expensive and the one you don't need) is on the rear axle... The one that is $13.99 says 46RE that you don't have (dunno why they list 2001 4.7 with a 46RE) you have a 45RE if you have a 4.7L. So, they will need to find the speed sensor for the 4.7L "45RE"... Still should be cheaper then Napa though, I would think around $30 range coming from Autozone.
