HI all, exactly what the title says, the change oil message came on at 2500 miles exactly. Did this happen to anyone else? I changed it soon after that, but just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

The oil change is still due at 3,000 but it comes on 500 miles early to give you a window of time to do it in.

I hate that cuz nowadays 5000 to 7500 miles is more realistic of a time to change your oil, especially if you use synthetic

As has already been stated, the manual says every 6000 miles, so why did mine come on at 2500?

mine came on at 2500 miles too. i did drive it from fl to colo. had the stealership change it, and they labeled the sticker with 6k between now and the next change. looked in the manual to reset the light, and it said 6k also.

The oil change light is supposed to be duty cycle based. So depending on how you drive will determine when it comes on. At least that's what it says in the owner's manual.

I probably drive 250-500 miles/week, so that probably has something to do with it. What does "duty cycle based" mean? Thanks!

Mine did too. Changed it right before I did some heavy towing.

Changed mine at 10,000km/6,250 miles which is a bit late for the first one IMO. otherwise
no problem.
