i have a 99 Dakota SLT (extended cab). so far i havent done any mods to it since i bought it. id like to add a CD changer, but im not sure where to put it. i thought maybe i could fit it under the back seat but there isnt enough room without removing the plastic tray underneath it, which looks like more work than its worth. i also thought about putting it right behind the console, but then i realized that the hump in the floor isnt wide enough to fit a changer back there. so far the smallest dimensions i have found for a changer is 10"W x 8"D x 3"H. that is for a 6 disc changer. also i want the changer to be RF and not a direct link. i have been ripping apart dashboards for the last 5 years installing systems and i really dont want to do it to my truck. tearing apart dashes gets old after awhile. all i want is a simple installation without havingt to modify/remove a ton of parts. basically i am looking for a place in my truck that is low profile and i can just place the changer in and fasten it down. any advice would be a great help.

Look at www.crutchfield.com ........................they have some factory replacement kinds of cd changers......might be a good start.

Buy a Neo!

I'd suggest forgetting about a cd changer and just get a Neo Car Jukebox (upgrade as needed). You'll have access to all the music you'll ever need.....in mp3 format of course. JMO.
