Anyone have experience hooking up CBs on these late model RAMs ?

I recently hooked up my Cobra 75 WXST CB Radio in my '03 Ram QC Hemi 2WD.

I'm getting a bit of ignition noise which means I have to have the squelch set about halfway.

I took my power right from the battery and its grounded good.

Will simply changing the spark plug cables quiet this down ?

Anything else I should look at thats a common noise source on these vehicles ?

Thanks.

Cb Noise

Just Some Vehicels Are Like This The Only Way To Cut It Down Is To Go To Radio Shack And Get A Noise Filter And Put It In Line Also Run Numerous Grounds In Different Places I Have Been Playing With Cb's For A Long Time And Its A Pain To Have The Noise In Know One More Thing If You Have A Cb Tech In Your Area He Can Do Some Mods To The Inside Of The Radio To Cut The Noise Or Send Your Radio To Pacetronics They Can If You Dont Have A Tech In Your Area Hope This Helps

I have a 29WX NW XT. It's mounted in the slot thing below the HVAC controls.
The antenna is mounted on the drivers side bed rail. It worked like a POS
until I scraped some of the spray in bed liner off of the rail to get a good
ground for the antenna. The ground for the antenna is every bit as important
as the coax. Make sure you have metal to metal all the way. :gr_patrio

I have had my Cobra 25 in 4 diesels now and no ignition noise. I run a Wilson 2000 antenea mounted to my box between the cab and the box on a home made mount that is bolted thru the box. I have the power wired into the hot wire on the lighter plug
