I have a 99 Ram 1500 4x4, and I am replacing ball joints and axle u joints. Is there a trick to removing the nut on the axle? My Haynes book says "Some models my have left-hand threads" (Turn clockwise to remove) I've read they are torqued to 175 and are a pain to get off.

You'll need an air impact wrench or a long breaker bar to break the nut loose.
