Well dropped the truck off at the shop, and thought it would be done today but got a call and the timing chain tensioner is broke, is this a common problem??

Stu mentioned something about those occasionally breaking I think, although I haven't seen one yet. If they did break it they must of really man handled it, it's cheap though.

I wasn't their so I can't really blame them for it breaking but, I am more upset that I won't be able to take the to the relatives house for thanksgiving but oh well life goes on. Thanks for the help I just wanted to know if its a common problem or not, or if the mechanic messed up. Sil I don't know if they broke it or its not working right all they told me at this point is that they ordered a new one and its on the way.

Was it running when you took it there?? I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think it would have been running if the tensioner was broke. Maybe if just a small piece of the plastic that the chain rides on was broken off, maybe.
