nah i would think its impossible. none of the instruments read directly from the dimmer switch. they rely on the communications bus for messages from the bcm to turn the backlighting on. with the exception of the radio and maybe the HVAC controls get their backlighting directly from the instrument cluster. but the dimmer is only sending a small signal to the BCM. and trying to run dash lights directly from it would cause more damage than good.
