I broke my axles while doing basicly nothing!

I was just in reverse with a trailler in a small hill

and them I heard a stripping noise and that it.

I could believe they are so whippy.

i'm guessing he means both front cv's. and depending on the hill size/incline and wieght of trailer i find it very believable.
ok CV. my mistake

but when the Dealer call me , the guy told me they break easly.

I was suprise.
Most likely had the wheels turned when backing up a hill. Lots of stress on the front axles that way.
No I wheel was strait

maybe at most 12 degree hill

Trailler was empty so around 1500 lbs
break u joints

One time a long time ago (1973) I had a 3/4 ton Dodge power wagon full of gravel. I backed up and put on brakes in 4wd. The front brakes stopped the front wheels and the rear wheel brakes did not stop the rear wheels. The front end U joints both broke. It made a very loud noise when they both broke.

I learned a lot that night. Two wheel drive and easy on the brakes when hauling a heavy load. Yes I do agree the front end U joint or cv joint which ever you have is the weak point of drive train.

Man that sucks!!! Hope I never deal with that!!
