I thought about taking the chrome covers off. Do they just come right off when you remove the lug nuts? I am intrigued.....can you tell? I like that look. And the red truck looks absolutely sick.

thanks for the comments guys. and yes they are the stock 17s rattle-canned black. i bought the 17s at a salvage yard, two of them had the chrome covers the other two were silver. i removed the chrome covers, which does take some time. but yes i removed the chrome stripped the glue and painted them.

i recommend haveing a good hammer, i big screw driver (a pry bar may work but depends on how wide the pry bar is), and alot of time & patience. The chrome is pressed on around the lip of the wheel, and the rest is glued on. try prying the chrome from the center out. it'll take time, but once you figure one out, the rest will be easy.

thanks. and that is exactly what i was going for when i got the 17s. all i am needing/wanting is the 'police interceptor' badge from the crown vics, lol.
