I wanted to get a set of BLACK head lights with the clear lens for my truck and ordered a set off e-bay from a seller by the name of cosmodynamic... well to my surprise I did get a set of BLACK headlights but they had the AMBER lens and not the clear lens.

Its nearly impossible to contact the company who I ordered them through and wanted to give you guys a heads up... just in case your looking to get a set... these guys are false advertising the clear lens lights and shipping Amber lights.

The auction I bid on and paid in full with BUY IT NOW!
Advertised black head lights w/clear lens. This is what I paid for!

Black headlights with AMBER lenses. This is what I received!

Needless to say Im a bit peed off! I cant contact these people as the phone number they have listed as the contact number is a FAX number ... and its off the hook!

I am warning you now to stay away from

cosmodynamic

As soon as I placed my order I jumped on the forums and learned that their was a seller doing EXACTLY what had happend to me... they where advertising the clear lenses and shipping the amber lenses.

Complete CRAP!

They will send you the wrong part intentionaly!

49 negative feedback ratings received just this month -- 445 in the past year! Why do people not read feedback before they bid!?!?

I'm not singling out you Air_Ram, but as a buyer and seller on Ebay myself, I would never do business with this guy in the first place. Just looking at the average rating (96.8%) is not enough -- you have to do some homework on the seller!!!!!

i was in the same boat with headlight covers...i, along with several other people, purchased various items from a "business" on eBay...not a private seller. I paid $45 total for them and they came back with an email saying there was a terrible ice storm that damaged their building...blah blah blah and at the end of their email said "God Bless you all" 2 months later they came back and said we are up and running and everyone who either didnt request a refund or hadnt recived product will be getting it shortly...i asked several others if this was true as i was yet to see $$$ or headlight covers---not a thing for anyone...they took our $$$ and :drivingz: didnt have a problem cashing them checks, money orders, etc did they??? :gr_patrio

Any company who is afraid to speak to their customers directly over the phone or in person is SHADY!

As for the feedback... I have been playing the e e-bay game for a long time... and I go by the % .... If they are over 95% then I will deal with them... if they are 95% and below I will not deal with them. He has 96% so I chose to go through them...

Its not like I got completely screwed. They are in fact NEW head lights... but they just have the Amber lenses and not the clear lenses.

Im afraid to leave a negative feedback because I know without a doubt that even though I paid INSTANTLY and I held up my end of the deal they will still retaliate and leave me a negative... I have over 530 100% Positive feedback... and I dont want a jackass like this turkey to give me my first negative when l did nothing wrong.

I will keep you guys posted.

can't you post a remark when someone gives you negative feedbacK? For example, when I'm looking at your feedback ratings, can't I look under it and see a comment from you?

Or you could just wait for him to give you feedback first!

This is the problem with the feedback system on eBay. I think you should leave the feedback that you feel is most appropriate. If he/she retaliates you have the option to comment. If you don't leave the feedback on a bad deal, you are corrupting the feedback system to the point where it will be totally unreliable for everyone.

You have a very good reputation on this forum, and I'll bet elsewhere, so I don't think you will get hurt even if the vendor leaves negative feedback. You could simply reply that you paid instantly, which was your only obligation, but didn't get what you ordered. Also, report the vendor to eBay if you can't get satisfaction from them.

Hey Nick,

I know exactly what you mean. Nothing pisses me off any worse than to leave a business numerous emails, phone voice mails, etc. and they think enough of me as a potential customer to "NEVER" get back with me. It speaks volumes as to their business ethics. I am a power seller on eBay and answer email from my customers at a minimum of twice a day. Sorry to hear about your experience. Hope you get it resolved.

Yes, you can leave a comment... but you still lose the 100% Positive... 99.99 % will NEVER be 100%.... In most cases where I feel a negative is earned ... I leave NOTHING at all. This way they don’t leave one and I get to keep my 100%... I think there should be some way to prevent retaliation feedback. I feel if the buyer pays through PAY PAL and the funds clear... they should be protected by deadbeats who sell CRAP and hold feedback hostage. Hell If you pay right away the buyer has completed his end of the deal... how could he earn anything less than 100% feedback?

Nick, you can file a complaint with eBay and Paypal to get your money back. You did not get what you paid for and what was advertised. Look into it. There is protection for when you pay with paypal.

LOL... Yeahh thats all taken care of. We are waiting for his response.

I offered to keep the headlights and I would just remove the Amber lens if he did a partial refund for $60.00. That would cover my time and it would cover the fact that I have no "CLEAR" lens to put in its place... so It will be sort of an eye sore...

I dont really expect him to jump on it but basically its the cost of shipping the item. If he where to replace these lights with the correct lights it would cost him at least that much in shipping:

Return shipping for the WRONG PART + Shipping cost of the CORRECT PART + my time to remove the amber lens.

If he refuzes that offer then I will just return the item and demand a full refund.... BUT I will NOT pay to ship his crap back too him and he will have to send me a return lable.

Right now PAY PAL has the funds FROZEN... LOL

So in a way I have the upper hand at this point... I have the product... and I had the money removed from his pocket... So if he does NOTHING then I get to keep both!

:D

ALSO, For those of you who have been looking at getting new headlights... the ones with the AMBER lenses are not too bad at all... I kinda like them... but I would preferr to have the clear lenses... they just are NOT what I ordered.

Heres another one...............Sure looks like the picture they show when they sell them...............................not LOL
You have a very sharp looking truck... I like he lights on yours and honestly I think they work well on the eye in your case... really they are sharp looking lights.

My truck is mostly Silver, Black and some Graphite decals... I was attempting to remove ALL color from the truck... the tail lights are next! I dont want to see ANY Amber or Red. So when I saw the auction with clear lenses they would have followed the theam all the way through.... they would have been PERFECT.. but I got the Amber ones.

We will see what they do... my guess is they will not do much at all.... after looking at their feedback its clear their customer service is less than desirable.

I feel your pain, man. If I had gotten all the feedback I deserved on all the purchases and sales I've done on eBay, mine would look way better (I have one neutral, but have no feedback from most of the powersellers I have purchased from). But I still believe that not leaving feedback when you're not satisfied is a bad thing, kinda like not warning someone when you see a poisonous snake.

I also believe that if you do what is expected, you will should keep your 100% positive rating. I'm losing faith in eBay altogether because I have bought from people with 100% positive and not been satisfied, if you're doing what you say you are (not leaving feedback if it's negative), I think you are doing a disservice to your fellow eBay shoppers and vendors.

I'm not trying to single you out, from what I can tell you are very highly thought of on this forum. I just think the future of eBay rests in the hands of the feedback system, and once it's corrupted, eBay and all the vendors that make their living off of it will suffer.
