Does anyone have any experience with the portable nav systems? I have an indash one right now but i'm switching to a portable one so i can use it in different cars. I was looking into getting the Garmin street pilot which is about $500.
I have the Garmin GPSmap 276C and I love it. I have the GPSmap because I also have a boat so this unit can be used for both land and sea. The trip routng is awesome. Evertime we travel and rent a car we take it along and are never lost.
The GPSmap is about the same size as the Street Pilot but adds the marine aspect.
No matter what you buy, make sure you get the North American map software for the detailed road maps.
Just throwing it out there, if you happen to have a laptop then theres muliple nav programs out there, my fav being IGuidance 3, and using a USglobalsat BU353 usb gps sensor ( sirf III waas enabled )
