When attempting to adjust the front band, the lock nut would not come loose with a wrench. I grabbed my handy impact and it broke loose, however, it feels like the center adjustment screw turned with it and spun out of the adjustment band. I've turned it almost all the way back in and don't feel any tension.

1) Is my theory possible/probable.
2) Is there any way to recover or am I at the mercy of a transmission repair shop?

Just a quick update here....It appears I was in the middle of premature panic when originally posted. After further review, I discovered that the adjustment screw just needed to be turned a couple more times...
