I'm referring to "in the tank with the fuel" not "in the engine" in case I confused you all. It's HUGE on other forums.

NOBODY !!! Lots of people are reporting a 2-3 mpg increase and a much quieter injection pump due to the added lubricity. I'm seriously considering trying it now because of the new Low-Sulfur fuel and the loss of lubricty to the injection pump.

There is no threat of "gumming" up the high-pressure fuel pump or its injectors?

I'd just stick to Diesel oil instead.

I don't know but guys have been running it for long periods with no reported issues.

Is "Diesel oil" a brand name?

Cummins has truck engines that burn teir own used engine oil. Cant emagine two stroke oil would cause any big problem injector wise. Don't quite believe the mileage gains, dont see any reason running two stroke oil would incrrease mileage. There are people out there who wuold swear that they got two mile per gallon better after using turtle wax.

actualy there is a mileage incease up to about 2 mpg, and teh two stoke oil is in my opinion better than regualr because it is ment to burn im running it in my truck for the first time and the truck is running noticable quieter and there has been a slight mileage increase. im running it with a lil degelling fluid becasue its getting freaking cold here in wyoming.

Sorry it took so long to get back, I've been away from the old keyboard for a few days. :)

Diesel oil is the fuel that Diesel engines run on. It is often confused with the lubricant used in their crankcase. ;)

It is called "oil" because it is much less refined than gasoline; it has more hydrocarbons (one of the reasons for its greater fuel efficiency) and a lower volatility rate than gasoline and can withstand higher temperatures and pressures without vaporizing.

Cetane decreases its resistance to explode while other additives increase its overall volatility. :help:

Crazy.

i don't believe the whole quiet down thing......im sure it helps...don't get me wrong......but a 2nd gen is impossable to get to a 3rd gen noise level......that is done by fuel pressure and other various things.....we aren't changing that. But i might have to try it to run with the ULSD. should help with the lubricity.

You have it right. the longer the carbon chain, the more intermolecular interactions there are. These interactions partly determine the combustion properties and "state." 1 carbon is methane (very volatile gas), 2 carbons is ethane (slightly less volatile gas), 3 carbons is propane (volatile, but easily compressed into liquid..."LPG"), and so on. Gasoline is primarily a combination of 6-10 carbon molecules, diesel is more like 12-16, motor oil 18-20ish, and waxes are a little longer still. Plastics can be 100's of carbons long.

The more interactions, the more difficult it is to break those interactions with heat or pressure and allow O2 to attack and result in combustion (oxidation)

I'm running 16 oz of 2-stroke oil (ashless) every other tankfull. I switch tankfulls between Stanadyne and the 2-stroke mixer oil. It makes a big difference in how quiet the engine runs. Mileage increase ?? Mine has been getting on average 19-21 combined city/ highway since the fuel system as been repaired / modified in Sept. That's when I started running 2-stroke with LSD Fuel (500 ppm). The only reason I burn additives is for lubriticity & cetane gain.

I'm trying it and haven't really noticed much difference yet, BUT, I wasn't putting a whole quart per tank. I did add it when I was running a tank of Bio diesel and some ULSD. I did notice a little different scent of the exhaust with the oil in it.

My 02 2500 2wd CTD with the 2 stroke oil runs noticeably quieter at idle, there are no negative performance issues and on a good tankful (no lead foot) I can see 2 mpg increase, that more than makes up for the cost of the 2 stroke oil. My expeirience over the last 8k indicates it works very well, Give it a try, you will notice the difference before the needle starts moving down (when full) that,s 1 quart per tank full. get it at wall mart their brand is $1.54 for 16 oz. or $7.78 for a gallon.

No more smoke than without the 2 stroke motor oil, but while drinking coffee in the morning I use the python to start the beast and let her warm up before I finally leave, (I always warm her up before driving winter and summer, AND before I shut her off I let the CTD cool for a minute or two) I have noticed a slightly different smell to the exhaust, But on my last trip to Tennesse I found and tried a tankfull of B100, loved it , But it too had a different smell, kinda made me crave mickey D's fries. T would recomend to anyone to try the 2 stroke oil, anything that will protect those dam high dollar pumps is good, and if the side effect is less chater and a little more fuel ecconomy, well isn't that what we're all looking for??? :D

No more smoke on mine but I'm only running 1/2 qt per tank up til now. Next time its going to be a whole quart. Does seem to idle a little smoother and quieter.
