I am in the middle of a engine swap, well more like a complete make over. I have a 87 4x4 that had a really tired V6 and the body was in sad shape. I bought a 94 with a 5.2 with a good body so I am in the process of switching the engine and body onto my 87. I wish the parts truck would have been a 4x4 so I could have used the overdrive trans. I have found a ton of extended cab trucks, but mine is a regular cab long bed.
I have soured out a fresh rebuilt od trans and transfercase. If anyone has a extended cab 4x4 and wouldnt mind measuring the driveshafts that would be really helpfull.

why swap, why not just drive the 94? Engine and body? Wow.

The 94 was totaled, it has no title. The 94 is 4x2 and I need 4x4. My grandfather bought the 87 new, he would love to see it fixed up so that is what I'm trying to do. Also I might be a little wierd, in the meaning of I like to take run down vehicles and bring them back to what they should or could be.
