On a recent road trip I noticed my air conditioner would shut it’s self off if I had the fan on the lowest setting. The fan would keep blowing just not cold air. My wife told me this has been an ongoing problem, she just never told me about it. If the fan is turned to the second position it works fine. Any ideas?

mine does the same kind of thing, but it only shuts the a/c off for a second about every 30 seconds in a wierd cycle. someone had mentioned it was bad to run the a/c on the first setting. can't remember which a/c thread it was in but i read it a couple days ago. might be a clue as to your problem.

ugly, it might be overcharged. Does the a/c indicator stay lit when it gets warm?

i was guessing that. it takes a little long to get the cold charge moving. good thing i drive naked.
