As i was taking out the airbox to install my cold air intake (3" chrome tube w/ K&N filter) i noticed the original air intake has an aluminum piece inside the tube that looks like it makes the air into a vortex. just wondering what affect this has and whether it will matter now that it's not there.

Not sure if you bought it new or used. But if you bought it used I would say it sounds like the Tornado, and if it is I would toss it because it a hoax.

That doesnt sound like a factory part to me either, what year truck & did you buy it new??
