Who's 4" kit do you have for exhaust? Are you useing a pipe that is crimped down to the stock 3" at the end? I replaced my stock exhaust elbow with a banks power elbow and it really seemed to help it out. I don't have a comp box on mine but the EZ is always on 3 and I got 80 HP injectors in it. Nother thing would be to ditch the muffy to open the exhaust up as much as possible. You could also try cutting the bottom out of the stock airbox. I did it and dropped about 75 degrees on the pyro

I know that this has been kicked around in the past, but I am thinking of buying an aftermarket airbox. As in a discussion, a few posts down, I have problems with high EGT's. I live in Colorado and pull a 10,000 lb fifth wheel up some pretty serious grades. An air box is about the only thing that I haven't done to the truck. It is a 2001 cummins, Edge 5 stage chip, 4" exhaust, ATS tranny with the torque lock module, K&N air filter in the stock air box, and a BD exhaust brake. It is getting to the point anymore, that on a serious grade I just turn the chip off, so I don't have to worry about roasting the engine. I am hopeful that a good airbox would allow more air to the turbo to keep the EGT's a little lower

lots of fuel and thin air make for heat,,,,,,airbox wont do much,only true way to cool is more turbo,,a 40/35 hybrid would probably be your best bet for towing.......bama
