Changing fluid should not cause the trans to start slipping unless you use the wrong trans fluid. With only 105K on yours, you shouldn't have any issues with that at all. Change the filter while you are at it and be sure to only use ATF+4 fluid. Adjust the bands according to either the factory service manual if you have it or a Haynes/Chiltons manual. Its pretty straight forward.

I believe its inch lbs, not foot lbs. Check the manual for torque settings. You don't want to over torque things, especially in the transmission.

I adjusted the bands on my old Ram that had 150k+ on it at the time and had no issues. If you don't feel confident doing it yourself, have a reputable shop do it. I need to have it done on my 1999 still. Its just about to turn 122k.
