Very good find Speed Dragon. I would settle for an add on overdrive unit though, even if I had to shorten my rear drive shaft. I do most of my driving in 2wd anyway. With an add on unit you could cable actuate it any time you wanted to save gas and lower RPMs, just couldn't use it in 4WD.

does anyone know what's involved in putting one of these in a 4x4 truck? I mean whats needed to move the transfer case and all that stuff..

Just grab a trans/t-case combo out of a 4x4 truck. Shouldn't need to move much of anything around.

On a similar note, what tranny/t-case combos would be a direct bolt on replacement for my 87 W150 with a 318 and 3 sp auto? What year trucks? I really would love a four or five speed, as long as there was an OD.

92-93 4x4's had a 5-spd, not sure which one it was though. Either a 535 like mine or a NV-2500 I would guess. They had Getrag 5-spd in the diesels also, not sure if they ever got used in the gas trucks, they seem to have had problems in the diesels I think.
