99 R/T Brake Heat?

OK Here is a question for any of you brake experts, I have a 99 R/T with apprx. 13,000 miles. I noticed the other day that there seemed to be a smell of brake heat coming from the pass. side. After looking into it a little further I noticed that the caliper & wheel on that side were quite a bit hotter than the driver side. I know that the engine is offset to the pass. side & the exhaust manifold is almost on top of the A arm. I am wondering if the offset is enough to cause a heat sink situation? I jacked the truck up & both wheels spin freely, so I dont think that the caliper is sticking nor a wheel bearing. Thanks in advance for ANY input or advice????

could be a partially collapsed flex hose. when brakes are applied, the fluid can pass through the restriction(fluid is pressurized with your foot). fluid can't return through the restricted line upon release(low, passive pressure). to check, raise the RF wheel off the ground. have a partner apply the brakes. YOU apply presure to your raised tire as if you are going to spin it. have your partner release the brake. wheel should spin freely IMMEDIATLY upon release. try it a few times. if there is ANY delay and the wheel drags then releases the hose is collapsing and needs replacement. other thoughts, could also be stuck slider on that side. is the outboard pad thinner than the inboard? caliper COULD be sliding under apply(normal) and not sliding back on release holding the outboard pad on causing drag and heat. TWO possabilities. hope it helps.

R/T Brake Heat

Thanks for the input, both check out OK, I have done some more testing and have decided not to replace any parts just yet. IF there is truly a problem it WILL become apparant in the future. Meanwhile I have been driving the truck varying distances & stopping every few miles to compare the temp. of the calipers & also the A-arms & metal sections of the brake lines. Even after only a few blocks the A-arm ect. is warmer on the pass. side, this MUST be due to the fact that the exhaust is so much closer on that side? There has not been the brake SMELL since the HOT afternoon that I drove across town & got stuck in stop & go traffic several times. I would still appreciate any other input & am courious if any other V-8 DAKOTAS have the same problem THANKS Again in advance!!!

PS I also did a gravity bleed on the entire system just to be on the safe side & to check the condition of the fluid!!
