I have a '97 Stratus w/2.4 and the problem I'm having is that the a/c doesn't seem to shut off. I can have the controls set to panel and not have the a/c button engaged without having the blower on and you can feel the cold air coming from the ducts. With gas prices as high as they are if I don't need a/c I would rather have it off. Plus with winter coming I'm sure the wife wants heat in the car not barely warm. Could this be a relay that is bad or the control unit. The compressor seems to cycle fine, but with the setting where they are it shouldn't.

Sounds like the relay is stuck. Smack it with a hammer! If that don't work, a junk yard replacment will.
