Finally got in the forms.

I am lost here.. I have a 96 V6 4x4 that is loosing oil but not leaking out anywhere and not blowing it out. I have notice a little when it first starts up, but other than that nothing.

I had the oil changed Jan 18th and last night I had to drop in 3qts.

I would agree with that, it's pretty common from what I hear on the V6's as well

My 5.2 has the same issue. Around town for short trips in the cold, it hardly uses any oil because the oil isn't hot and thin or subjected to high vaccuum conditions in the intake. On the highway, vaccuum is high, oil is hot and thin and it will use a quart easily in 100 miles or so. I didn't believe the intake gaskets were the cause, but if you look through the throttle body with a flashlight with the engine off, you will see a puddle of oil in the plenum.

Brent.
