Why not rebuild? That damaged? Transfer case rebuild is less than 400. drive shaft is another story, though. I had mine fully redone for 125 minus the u-joints. Just took in the old shaft

yeah hit up a junkyard. i had the same issue. the chain was so loose it whipped around and cracked the case open.

have tried all local junk yards and ebay with no luck.

I can find newer 2nd gen transfer cases but nothing for my 92 318,

I am thinking about getting a differant case and trying to make it fit

it'll be harder than you think. i believe some jeeps have the np231 which is what you have i think right? like the jeep cherokees and such. if not, call the junkyards weekly as their inventory will always change

I bought one on ebay last night for $250 plus $71 shipping.
Now I need a drive shaft.

I've been checking the local junk yards for almost a year now.
One dude just laughed and said thats gonna cost ya.good luck.:rocket:

hah yeah thats a good buy. unless its messed up too. i paid 700 for mine from a junkyard... shoulda went to a u pull. would have been 80.
