The ground wire that bolts to firewall (center) just above the coil is over heating and burning the protective cover off. Trying to find the other end to replace it, any knowledgeable people know the answer.

chassis frame, engine block , neg battery post , you can NOT have to many ground connections . Redundant grounds are good. Firewall to heads ,fender to frame , bed to frame. Your missing some somewhere , and it’s trying to all flow that one now undersize wire.

Finally found the end of the ground that is on the center of the firewall, it does go to the back of the heads. Would have to be a contortionist with small hands to replace it. Haven’t been able to find any broken lines but will be looking every time I'm crawling around it. I am adding a block to frame ground and eventually a frame to body also replaced my battery negative terminal cable.
