Hey yall,

I have a 78 w150 powerwagon with the 318 auto transmission. I want to covert it to a manual 4speed with a granny gear and have the gear driven transfer case. Do any of yall know which transmission and TC I need? NP435 and NP205? Ford/dodge? And which years will work? I'm in the process of changing out the axles to dana 60s. Any help or other websites would be most appreciated.

Thanks yall,

Carl

NP435 would be the original trans. Easiest way is to find a 72-80’s donor. I had an NP435 in my ‘76 2WD. It sucked on the street/highway. Went to an A-833OD. of course if you plan to use it as a work truck, rock crawler etc. then it will work fine. Tough as nails too.
