i got a 1978 d100 lwb super 6 that came from the factory with 3 speed on column. then someone got a a833 overdrive and put it in. they cut a hole in the floor for the shifter. so i removed it because it isn't right for the hills in Arkansas. so i had my 65 d200 lwb slant 6 with a factory np435 granny gear towed next to my 78. im just wondering if the np435 will bolt right up in to my 78. i noticed the drive shaft in my 78 is one piece, and in my 65 the drive shaft is 2 narrow pieces. will i have to change that over? will i need to cut another hole in the floor for the shifter? and can i just lift the np435 into the 78 and bolt it in, or will i need a jack?:D:help::gr_patrio

Unless you are a body builder you probably won't be able to lift the 435 in. It is cast iron and heavy as hell. You may be able to use the one piece driveshaft. The hole in the floor i have no idea.
