5 speed in 74 w100 4x4

what are the possibiltys of putting like a 5 speed outta like a 92 dodge truck in my 74 4x4 i have a fresh 360 with a divorced transfer case its a daily driver and it runs 3500 going down the road at 65 and im looking to fix that a little and a 5 speed is just plain cool...any one think this would work or am i just crazy i want sum thing that can pull good cause im putting a goosneck hitch on it for our flatbed and horse trailer and something that will hold up if i deside to hot rod a little bit not alot

Easy, I think, the clutch linkages will be the toughest: mechanical to hydraulic. Get yourself a 5 speed and bellhousing out of a later model two wheel drive, 318 or 360 truck, have your jackshaft made longer or shorter along with any front u-joint changes. You might even be able to reuse the stock crossmember. Maybe think of grabbing all the hydraulic clutch stuff out of the late model donor.

I say go for it, great idea!
Save gas, lower revs, easy swap (I think) and the best part...cool factor of 10.
