I have a 06 Dodge 1500 mega cab transmission went out ordered a rebuilt one. Got the new one but the plate that the torque convertor sits against in the transmission has a brass fitting my original one has a black one that has a solid outter rim, the new one came with one attached in a bag to the transmission like mine. Question is do i need to remove that plate and pull the brass one out and press the other one in its place? attached a few pics for reference on what im refering too. First one is my original transmission second is the new one and third is the bushing that came with it.

It’s the seal for your torque converter , it came with a new one installed . The other is probably a different size, for a different converter,is my take on this . Do some measurements to be certain that you are using the correct size. Hell they may both be the same and they sent an extra. You could also contact the company you purchased it from and get their explanation.
