:help: Anyone know how to totally drain the trany, t-converter included. In days of old the t-converters had a small drain plug. I have not gotten into this one as of yet, but really tired of being robbed by the dealerships. example: asked the dealer about replacing rocker cover gaskets $312.00. About died laughing at the guy. Any help would be greatly appreciated

One option is to take your truck in and have the transmission flushed with new fluid. This will ensure that all the old fluid is removed.

Another "backyard mechanic" way is to change fluid and filter like normal and then disconnect one of the transmission lines and while you hold it into a container, have someone shift the transmission into neutral. This will pump the rest of the old fluid out of the torque converter. BUT you risk screwing the transmission up if don't keep refreshing the fluid level.

I don't see why you'd need to do a full flush on an standard tranny fuild change
